Each year we choose a different local cause as the recipient of our proceeds. We offer a nice line up of about ten local bands some of whom we hire and some of whom donate their time. Food is available for sale and people are also allowed to bring coolers of food and beverages. Groups of people set up chairs and tables on the lawn and settle in to enjoy the day. Wandering the farm and meeting the animals, and catching up with friends are among a few of the possibilities.

My absolute favorite part of this event is that my children have learned what it takes to put together a fundraiser, and have experienced the rewards that comes with giving back to an organization looking to better the world. There are no words for the pride I feel each year when Soul Jam is over and my family collapses from a hard days' work and months of planning, knowing it was a job well done.
